Sr. Guide, Wrangler & Shooting Instructor Gary Brown
“Well Tim, it’s pretty simple, if you show up on time and do what you say you are going to do then your phone won’t stop ringing.”
Gary's first job was at 6 years old at a Florida orange tree farm, and from that, he was dropped off at a dude ranch to clean up after the cowboys all summer. He started breaking colts at 12 years old to move up the ladder very quickly. He traveled around the country with the rodeo riding bulls, until he met his wife and settled down. He took on a full career with the fire department and again moved right up the ladder. He also owns and operates a heavy equipment company in Texas on the side, but nothing compares to his passion for the mountains and pursuit of the critters that they hold.
Gary Brown, born & raised in Arcadia, Florida, grew up hunting and fishing year round. Because of his upbringing and current lifestyle, he has spent countless hours honing his skills in pursuit of wild game. He hunts archery, muzzle loader, rifle, and also specializes in long-range shooting. He later began hunting big game & in 2020, he & his wife McKenzie went elk hunting with GCO. Becoming fast friends with Tim & Gin of GCO, Gary has guided hunts with their outfit every year since 2021. September is his favorite time of year to hunt, as the aspens change their color and the bulls are bugling, while he enjoys shorter days & colder weather of the rifle seasons. This man's work ethic is second to none and has been a huge part of our success at Gypsum Creek. We are HONORED to call him our family and friend. We trust his intuition with our lives, name, and reputation 100% of the time. If you are willing to give it all on a hunt, Gary is the guide for you!
