Trophy Mule Deer Hunts

When I took over Gypsum Creek Outfitters, Elk hunting was my passion and what I thought I dedicated my life too. It was fairly easy to get a deer tag for some other units around my house. I would draw a second or third season deer tag so I would be able to have some meat in my freezer. That all changed when I started getting calls for our Mule Deer hunts. G.M.U. 044 in Colorado, could possibly be some of the best Mule Deer genetics in the Country. With that said, being able to pursue these ONCE IN A LIFETIME bucks every year, every season quickly become an obsession for us. No matter if you like to chase velvet bucks in the early season or have waited 25+ years for that late November rut hunt, we cherish any opportunity to get in the mountains looking for big bucks. The best part of hunting Mule Deer in our unit is that any where in the unit at any time of the day you could get your eyes on a true 200+ inch Muley. We like to basecamp out of the cabins on the ranch so we can be mobile and cover different country. We spend all summer in the mountains watching these bucks grow their horns and when we do find a true giant we are not afraid to post up a camp or sleep on the ground. Making sure we can make the most of the opportunity.
